Do you ever find yourself not being as productive as you would like? Do you ever feel like a hamster on a hamster wheel? As you seek the easiest or fastest route to your goal, you may find yourself stopped entirely. Try these tips to increase your productivity:
Choose the right time. Nearly everyone has times of the day when they are most effective and times when they tend to drag. Schedule the most important tasks during your most effective time of the day.
Toss it. If a task doesn’t really need to be done, just get rid of it altogether.
Eat the frog early. The items you hate to do the most should be done first. Do them quickly and as early in the day as possible.
Set a goal each day (or night). In the morning, decide what you want to accomplish that day. Or better yet, plan the night before. When you have a plan of what needs to be done, you can spend all your time crossing those items off your list!
Eliminate distractions. While you’re working, turn off the cell phone, don’t check email, and log out of Facebook (or any other social media account). Any tab that doesn’t have to do with the project you’re working on should be closed.
Batch similar tasks together. Do all your emailing at one time. Make your consultation calls at another. You will waste less time by doing your work this way since you won’t be switching back and forth between tasks.
This week, try to implement at least 1 or 2 of these productivity tips. I’d love to hear how they work for you. Comment below and tell me which one(s) you’re going to try!
