Every list starts with one person. When you have one subscriber it’s time to start communicating with them.
There are a couple of options on the regularity of sending emails or newsletters to your list: daily, weekly, every other day, bi-weekly, and monthly. Decide what is manageable for you and what your market would like. Not everyone can email daily, but as your audience starts to love you they may want to hear from you on a daily basis. The choice is really up to you. The important thing is, whatever you choose, make sure to stick with it!
The key to having a successful list is to build a relationship with your subscribers. Make them feel like they are really special to you and you would go out of your way to help them. It’s all about service. People are interested in how you can serve them and help them with their problems. When you come across as genuinely wanting to serve your audience, they will be more likely to hear what you have to say.
Customize your emails/newsletters to fit their needs. Ask your audience what they want to know about. A great way to do this is to create a survey. If you tailor to what your audience likes you will build that relationship faster because you are thinking of them first.
Show that you offer value and knowledge. Show off your expertise in your emails/newsletters. Make yourself the go-to-person in your niche. You will notice, your audience will begin to come to you when they have a question or need your help.
